Grace: Dance, Community, and Legacy Exhibition at Stirling Castle | 22nd of September 20259/17/2025 Grace is a collaboration between White & Givan and Historic Environment Scotland, funded by Creative Scotland.
A powerful new exhibition at Stirling Castle celebrates Grace, a site-sensitive dance work inspired by Paula Rego’s haunting portrait Angel. The production, performed across historic buildings and heritage sites in Scotland, explores themes of strength, vulnerability, protection, and transformation. Alongside the performances, a creative workshop programme was developed in collaboration with Kirsten Wood, Learning Officer at Historic Environment Scotland. Led by acclaimed artists David Powell, Katie Henderson, and Kate May Anderson, participants explored the themes of Grace through willow weaving, stained glass, and tapestry. Guided by the question “What might your angel look like?”, the workshops invited participants from a wide range of communities to imagine and create their own responses. The results come together in a co-created exhibition, opening on 22nd of September 2025 at Stirling Castle, showcasing artworks, images, film, and sound inspired by the production funded by Creative Scotland. Call to Action: Visitors are invited to experience this unique exhibition, which reflects the creativity of communities across Scotland and the enduring impact of Grace.
