“Grace EXHIBITION opens at Stirling Castle on the 22nd of september”

Grace is a powerful dance work inspired by Paula Rego’s portrait Angel, exploring strength, vulnerability, and transformation within Scotland’s historic sites. Co-created with White & Givan and Historic Environment Scotland, and funded by Creative Scotland.

Alongside the performances, artists David Powell, Katie Henderson, and Kate May Anderson led a programme of creative workshops in willow weaving, stained glass, and tapestry. Guided by the question “What might your angel look like?”, communities across Scotland responded through artworks, images, film, and sound.

These responses now come together in a co-created exhibition at Stirling Castle, celebrating creativity, resilience, and place.
